Spiritual Awareness 101

I don’t even know where to begin with this one.

There is a new religion in the world, a one-world religion, and it is called Spiritual Awareness (otherwise known as New Age).

I feel it necessary to speak on this subject for a number of resons, not the least of which is to alert Christians to its reality. I also feel it has been so largely embraced that there is little information to counter its force in the world at this point; therefore it is expedient to at least try to make people aware of the lie. Its true that many won’t listen, I can’t really blame them. Without an understanding of Scripture its hard to know just why Christianity should be considered as relevant when compared with the plenitude of world religions. Christians are regarded as ignorant fundamentalists because they believe the Bible, and because they refer to it in debate considering it at all times to be valid. I’ve had people say I was ignorant for quoting Scripture. In reality the ignorant betray themselves, for not only have I researched a variety of spiritual systems myself, but I have also been an enemy of God and a destroyer of the Light.

I have wearied myself with war against God, and I have found all systems which I researched to be found lacking, every one of them. Don’t even say that “its because you weren’t looking into the right systems,” nor say “all systems lead to the same truth; if you didn’t achieve results its because you didn’t work at it long/hard enough.” If you say these things you are in ignorance of that which you speak, for you cannot know my struggle. First of all, it is interesting that in all other systems of belief, or philosophy, the divine quality is experienced through the amount of “work” you put into it. With Christ its the exact opposite: we can’t do anything to earn it, or work our way up to it. All we can do is have faith on Him. (We’re called ignorant for doing that, btw.)

So, what is Spiritual Awareness/New Age? These days people will tell you that it doesn’t exist, but it does, don’t let them fool you (and don’t fool yourself). New Age is a worldwide movement whose roots can be traced and verified. The reason why people don’t hear about it by that specific term too much these days is because… its everywhere. Everywhere you look, there is New Age. I sound like a paranoid lunatic, but its true. New Age has seeped its way into everything: entertainment, media, science and medicine, and every aspect of society. People from all walks of life, rich and poor, are into transcendental meditation, kundalini yoga, astral travel, Self-programming techniques, Qabbalah, and as many other sorts of occult activities as there are to individuals to create and suit them. A good definition of New Age is this quote, taken from another website which shall be listed at the end of the article:

“The term [New Age] itself may indeed be fairly recent but the actual practices and beliefs involved are thousands of years old. For instance, the slave girl mentioned in Acts 16 was in effect a New Ager. The term itself was taken from astrology making reference to the Aquarian age in which humanity is supposedly going to realize its inner divinity. Hence, anyone who engages in these mystical practices is associated with this view, even though they may have lived centuries ago. It’s not the term; it’s the practices that are at issue here.”

New Age has most definitely infiltrated Christianity, how do you think we got the DaVinci Code and “Holy Blood, Holy Grail?” It might be hard for people of this generation to see the problem with syncretism, or with convergence of belief. To the modern mind this is something to be embraced, it is a deviation from traditions which have become obsolete in this day and age. Many do not see the harm in picking and choosing the intricacies of their belief-systems. “I just use what works for me,” is a common line. Believe me, I’ve heard it from more than one person, the exact same line. That it doesn’t really work for them never seems to dawn on them. They are as the Scripture says: “…ever gaining knowledge, but unable to come to the knowledge of the truth.” God opens the door for them, but instead of walking through it, they struggle to close the door again. If it really worked for you, then there would be no need for you to modify it. There would be no need for fluidity; instead, they dictate endlessly how they despise “fixed doctrine.” Indeed, their litanies against fixed doctrines have fixed their doctrines. Thier sermons against stasis have made them stagnant.

The Bible warns against the emergence of the One Religion, just as it tells of everything that we are experienceing in our present day. The origins of New Age are spoken of in the book of Genesis, chapter 3, verse 5 (Gen. 3:5). The serpent came to seduce Eve, and told her that she would be like God if she would eat of the tree from which God had specifically told them not to eat. (How tragic it is that many people now know this story through New Age texts that tell erroneous versions of the account in order to promote their own New Age agenda’s.) Ever since the beginning, the Enemy has been devising and perpetuating his own spiritual plan in order to imitate (and outdo) God’s plan of salvation. In all the systems I have researched i have noticed that they all, each one of them, have at their heart the same fundamental concept. This collection of doctrines which forms the core of every world religion is purely New Age-based; that is to say, every system of belief except for  Christianity.

Spiritual Awareness (a term which I use synonymously with “New Age”) is a subject which all Christians should familiarize themselves with. A little research on the subject just proves that it is being trumpeted everywhere, and set up as the New-World Religion. This religious system, which was prophesied in the Bible, involves two major facets: the Left and Right-Hand schools of thought. These are basically two sides of the same New Age coin, as they both seem to have the same goal in mind while achieving it from different ends. This delusion further insinuates their belief that all paths ultimately lead to the same destination (a Monist philosophy in itself, correct me if I’m wrong).

Every Christian should be aware of the Spiritual Awareness Movement, of the threat it poses to each individual believer in Jesus Christ, and of its widespread emergence in the world (not to mention its global acceptance by the majority of the population, even Christians). Every occult practitioner (this means YOU), every witch, every sorcerer, every magician, tarot reader, guru, religious leader, astrologer, etc. (ad nauseam) is influenced by the same New Age spectrum of philosophy. The powers behind these practices, while undeniable, are said by the Bible to be the work of demons. It does not say this for the same reason you think. It says this because God wanted us to know in advance what we would be dealing with in the last days. All we had to do was read His Word to know about it, but the devil then devised countless methods to invalidate Scripture, and make it increasingly insignificant in the hearts of humanity. Nowadays, people will do anything in their power to keep from reading a Bible. Myself included. I’d rather sit here and preach than read my Bible. I’d rather speak the message of Christ than read the Word of Christ. Does it make sense to do that? No, it doesn’t. At the same time, it doesn’t make sense to form an opinion on a book you’ve never read before. Does it? New Age books love to talk about the Bible, about its apparent “flaws and contradictions.” Hogwash, these books are merely trying to outdo the truth of Scripture. Give them an “E” for “effort?” I’d rather give them an “F” for “fu… *Oooh, I’ll be nice*

They’ll never be able to outdo Scripture, and the only reason they try is because they think they can be God, or at least a better God than God Himself. They declare the Universe to be God, but they don’t acknowledge the God that created the Universe. They say that Man is a god, but they refuse to acknowledge the God who created Mankind. The Bible talks about this in the second Chapter of Romans, or thereabouts (I need to read my Bible!!! See my point?).

If you really want to know the truth, then ask God to show you in the name of Jesus Christ. He will show you the truth. If you want to stay floating around in the energy of your own imagination, then talk to your “Higher Self” or whatever entities you end up conversing with. (Side Note: Why is it that every time someone has a mystical experience, the revelation is always the same? Why is it always about the Self becoming a god, or realizing ones own (non-existent) Self-Divinity, or that God is a Universal Consciousness of Cosmic Awareness? Essentially these are all the same thought in different (increasingly vague) terms. Why doesn’t anybody question these entities or the validity of their statements? Why is everything they say takn at face value? (And we, as Christians, are criticized for taking the Bible literally? At face value?) Why doesn’t anybody have the guts to question their own feelings? They stupidly trust themselves, as if they could possibly know what is best for them. The only one who knows what is best for any of us is God, and the sooner we realize that, the sooner we can be healed. God wants us to question everything. Read your Bibles, have some balls! Geez.)

In conclusion, I hope that my ramblings are structured enough to communicate the urgency I feel about these matters. I want, above all, to relate the message of Christ, and the urgency I feel that all should turn their hearts to Him. If you’d like to know more about giving your life to Jesus Christ, click on the “Altar Call” tab up above, or talk to a church representative.

In the West, church attendance is at an all-time low; this is true. Why not go against the grain? Why not stand up for Christ, and refuse the trend of New Age? It won’t win you any popularity points, thats for sure, but doing the right thing never did.

Keep watching Jerusalem, Beloved!

Maranatha!
